305m (1,000') Landscape Lighting Cable · 2 Conductor 12 AWG · Direct Burial Roll · 2C12UGLV305
12 AWG 2-conductor low-voltage landscape lighting cable in a 305 m (1,000 ft) roll for direct burial outdoor lighting runs. Commonly selected for longer runs where voltage drop matters; as a rule of thumb, 12 AWG is typically used for runs over 100 ft (30 m), but actual performance depends on load, layout, and installation conditions.
What this product is for
This 2-conductor 12 AWG landscape lighting cable is used to connect low-voltage outdoor lighting systems such as path lights, spot lights, and accent fixtures. It is intended for underground landscape lighting installations where a direct burial cable is required.
Use for
- Low-voltage landscape lighting circuits
- Direct burial outdoor lighting runs
- Longer cable runs where heavier gauge helps reduce voltage drop
- Residential and light commercial exterior lighting projects
Avoid for
- Line-voltage branch circuit wiring
- Applications requiring more than 2 conductors
- Installations where local code requires a different cable type or protection method
Best for
Best for contractors and electricians installing low-voltage landscape lighting with longer homeruns or higher fixture loads. A typical trade rule of thumb is to use 12 AWG for runs over 100 ft (30 m) to help manage voltage drop, especially when aiming to keep drop at or below about 10%.
Actual performance depends on installation conditions, transformer sizing, connected wattage, and layout.
Installed in
Typically installed in gardens, walkways, driveways, commercial landscapes, building perimeters, and other outdoor areas using low-voltage lighting systems. Suitable for buried outdoor cable routing where permitted by code.
Why this product exists
Landscape lighting systems often need a cable that can be buried outdoors and still provide reliable low-voltage power to fixtures over distance. A 12 AWG 2-conductor cable gives installers a practical option when smaller cable sizes may result in excessive voltage drop on longer runs.
Compared with similar products
Compared with 14 AWG or 16 AWG landscape cable, 12 AWG is commonly chosen for longer runs and higher connected loads. As a typical guideline, 16 AWG is often used up to about 50 ft (15 m), 14 AWG for roughly 50 to 100 ft (15 to 30 m), and 12 AWG for 100 ft (30 m) and beyond. This is guidance only, not a guaranteed design value.
