NMD90 Copper Building Wire · 14 AWG 2 Conductor + Ground · 75 m Coil · Various Mfg. NMD2C1475
14 AWG 2-conductor NMD90 copper cable with bare bonding wire in a 75 m (246 ft) coil for dry or damp residential concealed wiring and exposed work in dry locations. Commonly used on 15A branch circuits with #14 AWG conductors; actual circuit design and installation must follow the Canadian Electrical Code and site conditions.
What this product is for
This Various Mfg. NMD90 copper building wire is used for residential branch-circuit wiring where a 14 AWG 2-conductor cable with bare bonding wire is required. It is supplied in a 75 m (246 ft) coil for new work, renovations, and service calls.
Use for
Use for concealed wiring in dry or damp locations, or exposed work in dry locations, where NMD90 cable is permitted. Typical applications include 120V lighting and receptacle circuits using black and white insulated conductors plus a bare bonding wire.
Avoid for
Avoid using this cable where exposed to weather, direct sunlight, mechanical damage, or in wet locations. Do not use where a larger conductor size, armoured cable, conduit wiring method, or a different cable type is required by code or the installation environment.
Best for
Best for electricians and contractors wiring standard 15A residential circuits where a 75 m coil is a practical size for smaller jobs, room additions, and service work. As a typical rule of thumb, #14 AWG is commonly paired with 15A circuits; continuous load planning should still follow the 80% rule and local code requirements.
Installed in
Installed in houses, apartments, and similar wood-frame construction in walls, ceilings, and floor cavities. Commonly pulled through bored studs and joists for general branch-circuit distribution.
Why this product exists
This cable provides a code-recognized non-metallic sheathed wiring method for indoor residential construction in Canada. Various Mfg.'s SIMpull jacket is designed to reduce pulling effort and support faster handling on site.
Compared with similar products
Compared with 12 AWG NMD90, this 14 AWG cable is typically selected for 15A circuits rather than 20A circuits. Compared with 150 m (492 ft) coils, the 75 m coil is easier to carry and better suited to smaller installations or partial-floor rough-ins. Actual conductor selection depends on load, voltage drop, installation method, and local electrical code.
