        What this product is for

IDEAL Aqua-Gel II 31-378 is a polymer-based wire pulling lubricant supplied in a 1 qt squeeze bottle. It is used to reduce pulling tension and friction when installing electrical and communication cable in conduit, especially on longer runs and bends.

        Use for

Use for pulling building wire, feeder cable, and communication cable where a hand-applied gel lubricant helps cable move more smoothly through raceway. The squeeze bottle format suits service work, smaller conduit runs, and spot application at entry points and bends.

        Avoid for

Avoid using this product as a general-purpose grease or mechanical lubricant. Confirm cable and installation compatibility for specialty jacket materials or site-specific requirements before use.

        Best for

Best for electricians and contractors who need a clean, controlled wire-pulling lubricant for residential, commercial, and light industrial work. It is a practical choice when you want polymer-based lubricity, easy cleanup, and a bottle size that is easy to carry on service calls.

        Installed in

Typically used during cable installation in EMT, PVC, rigid conduit, and other raceway systems. As a rule of thumb, lubricant becomes more useful as conduit runs get longer, bends increase, or conductor fill approaches typical working limits. Actual pulling conditions depend on conduit layout, cable type, fill, and site practice.

        Why this product exists

This product exists to lower friction during cable pulls, helping reduce effort and the chance of jacket or insulation damage. The polymer-based formula is supplied in a blue gel and packaged in a 1 qt (946 mL) squeeze bottle for controlled application on the job.

        Compared with similar products

Compared with heavier pail formats, this 1 qt (946 mL) bottle is better suited to smaller jobs, service work, and touch-up application during pulls. Compared with waxier compounds, Aqua-Gel II is commonly selected where easy cleanup and a cleaner application method are preferred.
