BX/Flex 90° Squeeze Connector · 1/2 in Trade Size · Zinc Die-Cast · Bridgeport SQ90050
1/2 in trade size 90° squeeze connector for terminating FMC, AC and MC cable to a steel box or metal enclosure. Zinc die-cast body with right-angle entry helps route cable in tighter spaces where a straight connector is not practical.
What this product is for
This 90° squeeze connector is used to terminate 1/2 in trade size flexible metal conduit, AC cable or MC cable into a steel outlet box, cabinet or other metal enclosure. The right-angle body helps make the turn at the entry point while maintaining a secure mechanical connection.
Use for
Use for FMC, AC and MC cable terminations where a 90° entry improves cable routing, reduces strain at the box, or helps fit the installation into shallow or crowded spaces. Common applications include panel connections, junction boxes, retrofit work and equipment terminations.
Avoid for
Do not use where a straight connector is required for alignment, where an insulated throat is specified, or where the wiring method and enclosure do not match the connector listing. Avoid using it as a substitute for liquidtight fittings or rigid/EMT connectors.
Best for
Best for electricians working with BX/Flex style cable where box access is tight and a clean 90° turn is needed. It is commonly chosen for service work, commercial tenant improvements and residential renovations.
Installed in
Typically installed in steel outlet boxes, pull boxes, cabinets and other metal enclosures with a 1/2 in trade size knockout. For Canadian jobs, confirm suitability with the cable type, bonding method and local code requirements before installation.
Why this product exists
A 90° connector solves box-entry problems where cable cannot approach in a straight line. It helps reduce sharp bends at the enclosure and can make conductor pull-in and final positioning easier in confined spaces.
Compared with similar products
Compared with a straight squeeze connector, this fitting is better when wall clearance or equipment layout forces an immediate turn. Compared with liquidtight connectors, it is intended for FMC/AC/MC style applications rather than liquidtight conduit systems. As typical trade guidance, a 90° fitting is commonly used when space at the box face is limited; actual fit depends on cable bend radius, enclosure depth and surrounding equipment.
Actual performance depends on installation conditions, cable construction, layout, and local electrical code.
